28 Million GBP project at Shetland

The international camp supplier Malthus has recently been awarded a contract for building an 850 man camp for the international oil and gas facilities service provider Petrofac.

The project will be executed on the Shetland Islands in the United Kingdom as a part of the Total Laggan Tormore Development Project.
 
The scope of work is a complete turnkey delivery including civil works, utilities, build and install of a modular camp with all facilities such as kitchen, diner, gym, shops, etc. and in addition a total 40.000 sqf on site offices and associated staff welfare buildings.
 
The value of the contract is approximately GBP 28 Million and will be performed in the period from January to October 2011, with a lease period for the facilities of 3 years.
 
The camp is designed to a very high standard, with the latest energy saving solutions and a modern design.
 
On behalf of Total, Petrofac will develop the 500 million standard cubic feet per day Laggan Tormore gas processing plant through its Offshore Engineering & Operations (OE&O) business, supported by its Engineering & Construction business.
 
The project comprises Engineering and Procurement, Supply, Construction, Commissioning and start-up. The plant, located on Shetland at Sullom Voe, will facilitate the transportation of gas from Total’s Laggan and Tormore Fields, located 125 km North-West of the Shetland Islands, to the Total operated St Fergus Gas Terminal in Aberdeenshire.

Vale Inco has commissioned phase 3 on Newfoundland

The first two phases, 800 rooms and corresponding common areas, of the accommodation camp on Newfoundland have been in use for a couple of months now. Phase 3 is now commissioned and within spring 2012 the camp will consist of approx. 1050 rooms in total.
